Thank you to everyone who attended our first “wicked lunch” on one of the wicked problems facing Financial Services: Stablecoins.
We had a brilliant discussion chaired by Professor Daniel Broby, a member of the UKFin+ advisory board and Professor of Financial Technology at Ulster University.
Thank you to our fantastic panel of industry and academic experts: Lory Kehoe CEO of MSX, Martin Dowdall Senior Managing Associate at Sidley Austin LLP, Guneet Kaur University of Stirling PhD student focusing on digital money and privacy concerns surrounding CBDCs.
Each panellist started with a short presentation on their area of expertise and then discussed 3 key areas for the wicked problem of stablecoins:
- Market Adoption and Industry Impact – industry adoption, challenges, and outlook.
- Legal and Regulatory Landscape – regulatory hurdles and compliance.
- Academic and Research Insights – recent research and future directions
It was a fascinating and vibrant panel discussion and we hope this will be the first of many online bite-sized debates.
