Information about you: how we use it and with whom we share it

UKFin+ collects the following data:

  • Personal data of those who sign up to our mailing list
  • Personal data of those who apply for our funding
  • Anonymous data given voluntarily by those who attend our events and/or receive funding from us to enable us to monitor our inclusivity and reach

The Purpose of the Processing:

UKFin+ processes the personal data of those signed up to our mailing list, in order to keep you up to date with relevant news, events and opportunities related to UKFin+ and our funding schemes.  To do so, we are using MailChimp as our mailing system.

For monitoring purposes we will ask those attending our events and applying for our funding to voluntarily provide us with data on their protected characteristics, geographic location of work and whether they are an academic researcher or working in industry.  This information will be collected anonymously, separately from the event registration and funding application process and will reported as summary statistics over a year in our Annual Report.  The Annual Report is sent to the EPSRC, UKFin Advisory Board and published on our website.  It also features in our social media communications. This data is necessary to enable the UKFin+ team to fairly assess your application for funding. Funding applications will be shared with the UKFin Directors and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion assessment panel members.  Funding applications can be withdrawn at any time.  Withdrawn applications will be deleted.

The lawful basis for processing your data:

The lawful basis for processing your data is based on the consent you provide by signing up to our mailing list or submitting an application for funding. By providing your consent, you acknowledge and agree that we may collect, store, and process your personal information for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy.

Who your data will be shared with:

We will include summary statistics of the geographic location of our network members in our annual report.

The Annual Report is sent to the EPSRC, UKFin Advisory Board and published on our website.  It also features in our social media communications.

We also use MailChimp, a 3rd party processor for our mailing list.

How long your data will be kept for

We will hold the personal data you provided to us when you joined our mailing list for up to 4 years.  After this period we will send communication to you querying whether you wish to remain on our mailing list.  Alternatively, you can opt out of the mailing list at any time using this form: unsubscribe from our mailing list.
