FIS Digital Assets Hackathon

By the time today’s students become tomorrow’s leaders, money may work very differently. AI, digital assets and programmable payments are changing how we store, exchange and manage value, shaping the careers you’ll build over the next decade. But the questions go beyond technology: how do we build trust, protect people and ensure innovation benefits society? This hackathon invites you to explore those questions and develop ideas for the future of money.

The FIS Digital Assets Hackathon, delivered in partnership with UKFin+, is an exclusive event bringing together ambitious students, industry experts and technology leaders to explore what’s next and help shape the future of money.

Over 1.5 days, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary team, tackle an industry challenge and present your solution to FIS and banking industry leaders.

The event will take place on the 25-26 November 2026 across two exceptional London venues.

Who Should Apply?

We welcome students from UK universities with interests in technology, business, finance, design, economics, policy, cybersecurity or data. You’ll bring your skills and perspective to a team. We’re looking for curiosity, creativity and a collaborative approach to solving problems.

The Challenges

Your team will tackle one of three challenges:

Digital Trust & Programmable Controls

Explore how digital finance can prevent fraud, protect consumers and make transactions more transparent without adding unnecessary friction.

Invisible Wallets & Agentic Commerce

Design ways for people, businesses and AI agents to exchange value safely as digital wallets and automated purchasing become part of everyday life.

Public Value & Accountability Networks

Develop approaches to tracking public funding, improving accountability and ensuring resources deliver value for communities.
