Project Summary

The FinTech Discovery Day is a one-day event at Swansea University for students aged 16-18 from local schools and colleges. It introduces how finance is changing through the use of data and digital technologies, and what this means for everyday life and future careers.

Through interactive workshops and practical activities, students will explore how financial decisions are made using financial data, learn about topics such as digital payments and investment, and gain insight into how technology is shaping the financial sector. The event will also include input from industry professionals, helping students understand real-world applications and career pathways.

As part of the day, students will take part in a team-based FinTech Challenge, where they apply what they have learned to a real-world scenario and present their ideas, with prizes awarded for the most effective solutions.

The project aims to make finance and technology accessible and engaging, while encouraging more young people to consider studying finance, economics or technology-related subjects.
