We are pleased to announce the success of our second launch event for UKFin+, held at the Berkeley in London. The event was a resounding success from start to finish, with attendees both engaged and excited about the project and our goal to tackle wicked problems in the financial services and Fintech industry.
We kicked off the evening with a brief overview of the project by our PI and director, Professor Aad van Moorsel. This provided attendees with valuable insights into the aims and objectives of UKFin+ and how funding will be distributed.
A highlight of the evening was a brilliant keynote speech by esteemed expert Leda Glyptis PhD on “doing digital – why is it so hard and what can we do about it.” Her speech resonated with the audience, sparking lively discussions and inspiring new ideas on how to tackle key issues in the digital age of financial services and Fintech.
We then moved on to our distinguished panel of experts who shared their invaluable insights on trends, opportunities, and challenges facing the industry. The panellists included Jing Chen (director at UKFin+), Julian Wells (whitecap consulting), Andrew Walters (Bank of England), Diederick Van Thiel (AdviceRobo), and Pinar Emirdag (JP Morgan), chaired by Gilles Chemla (Imperial College London).
Each panellist brought a unique perspective to the discussion, and it was fascinating to hear their thoughts on the challenges facing the industry and potential solutions to overcome them. The discussion that followed was engaging and thought-provoking, with attendees eager to join in.
We are thrilled to have received such positive feedback from attendees and are excited to get started collaborating with you all to tackle the wicked problems financial services and fintech face.
